Obama to visit Egypt, Germany, France next month
WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama plans to deliver a speech in Egypt on U.S. relations with the Muslim world when he sets out on an overseas trip next month.
The White House says Obama also will visit Germany and France.
In Dresden, Germany, he will visit the Buchenwald concentration camp. In France, he will help commemorate the 65th anniversary of D-Day in Normandy.
Obama had promised to make an Arab country the setting for a major speech on U.S. relations with the Muslim world.
Asked why Egypt, press secretary Robert Gibbs said the country in many ways represents the “heart of the Arab world.”
