Raytheon gets $7 million semiconductor contract
TEWKSBURY, Mass. — Raytheon Co. said Thursday it received a $7 million contract from the Office of Naval Research to improve the semiconductors used by U.S. military agencies.
The contract calls for Raytheon to improve the yield and integration density of compound semiconductor and silicon complementary metal oxide semiconductor transistors fabricated on the same silicon wafer.
This is the second part of a previous contract from the Office of Naval Research. The work will be done for the Compound Semiconductor Materials on Silicon program, which is funded by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.
Raytheon, based in Waltham, Mass., had 2008 sales of $23.2 billion.
