Bombing at police station in Pakistan kills 2
PESHAWAR, Pakistan — A police official says a suicide car bomber has attacked a police station in northwestern Pakistan, killing at least two people and injuring 14 others.
Liaqat Ali Khan says police opened fire on the vehicle as it approached a checkpoint in front of a police station in Badh Ber on Monday morning, but the driver was able to detonate his explosives.
Badh Ber is located some 7 miles (12 kilometers) south of the main northwestern city of Peshawar.
The area in and around Peshawar has experienced a wave of attacks in recent weeks as militants retaliate against an army offensive in the tribal area of South Waziristan, where Taliban and al-Qaida leaders are believed to be hiding.
