President speaks to union members on Labor Day

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama is working on Labor Day, speaking to union members in Ohio.

He’ll leave the White House Monday morning for the trip to Cincinnati. In the afternoon, he addresses the annual AFL-CIO Labor Day picnic, as union members celebrate the holiday named for their movement.

Making the trip with Obama is Ron Bloom, who will be introduced as the president’s new senior counselor for manufacturing policy.

Obama’s Labor Day trip will be brief. He’ll be back at the White House in time for dinner.
