Co-pilot’s mom sues in LA over fatal SC jet crash
LOS ANGELES — The mother of a co-pilot killed in a plane crash that seriously injured former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and DJ AM has sued the plane’s manufacturer, operators and tiremaker.
Suellen Lemmon of Washington state sued Bombardier Inc., Learjet Inc., Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. and others Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court. Her daughter, Sarah H. Lemmon, was killed in the crash in Columbia, S.C. nearly a year ago.
The lawsuit claims a tire blowout damaged other parts of the plane.
The wrongful death suit may be linked to claims filed by survivors of three others killed in the crash and Barker and DJ AM, whose real name is Adam Goldstein.
The cases have been delayed until a government investigation into the crash has been completed.
