Frontier seeks to extend bankruptcy plan deadline

NEW YORK — Frontier Airlines is asking for more time to propose its bankruptcy reorganization plan.

The Denver-based airline currently has until June 4 to propose a plan before creditors would be allowed to propose their own. Frontier is asking to extend that deadline until Oct. 9.

Frontier Airlines Holdings Inc. said in a bankruptcy court filing in New York on Friday that it believes it is on track to emerge from Chapter 11 this year.

Frontier filed for bankruptcy protection in April 2008. It has finished much of its reorganization but is still looking for exit financing.
