2 students found shot to death in Ohio cemetery

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Two high school seniors were shot to death in an Ohio cemetery and police are trying to determine if it was a murder-suicide or double suicide.

Seventeen-year-old Jamie Serich and 18-year-old Colin Hart were seniors at Youngstown’s Cardinal Mooney High School and lived in Boardman. An officer on routine patrol Sunday morning in Boardman found their bodies side by side in a cemetery. A pistol was found nearby.

Police say each was shot once in the head. Hart apparently shot himself, but investigators are trying to determine if Serich also shot himself or if Hart killed him.

Police say Serich had expressed suicidal thoughts and was reported missing Saturday night.

Cardinal Mooney won a state football championship Friday, but the school says the two weren’t connected to the team.
