Yemen Airline Crash: Many Feared Dead

An Yemeni aircraft carrying roughly around 150 people crashed on Tuesday. It belonged to the state run carrier Yemenia.The crash took place in the waters of the Indian Ocean near the Comoros Islands.
It was a big Airbus 310 aircraft and it was carrying passengers who were mostly of French and Comoros origin. As far as any news on the number of fatalities is concerned, nothing is available as of yet on that front. Even the Vice President of this Island Nation has said that there is no news yet about the survival of any of the passengers or crew members. Moreover, the news agency Reuters has reported, while citing a source that the plane had actually gone down into the waters of the Indian Ocean surrounding this island nation.
The ill fated aircraft was bound for Moroni in Comoros Islands and the plane was coming from Sanaa before which it had had taken off from the Paris Airport. This is authenticated by a spokeswoman from the Paris Airport Authorities. The flight had a 11 member strong crew besides the general passengers on board. No one has been able to pinpoint the causes behind this crash though a person called Ibrahim Kassim who is a representative of ASECNA, the the regional agency for airline security and navigation said, “We think the crash is somewhere along its landing approach.” He also went onto add, “The weather is really not very favorable. The sea is very rough.” While on the Yemeni side the airline officials declined to comment.
The aircraft belonged to Yemenia which is owned by the Yemeni and the Saudi Arabian Governments.
