White Sox’ Guillen, Dye ejected from Indians game
CLEVELAND — Chicago manager Ozzie Guillen and outfielder Jermaine Dye have been ejected from Wednesday’s game against Cleveland by home plate umpire Mike DiMuro.
Dye was ejected after being called out on strikes with the bases loaded in the top of the sixth inning. Dye took a 2-2 pitch from Cliff Lee and flipped his bat to the ground. Dye argued briefly with DiMuro and was ejected after slamming down his helmet, which bounced off the umpire.
Guillen came out of the dugout to lead Dye away before returning to the bench. He was ejected before the bottom of the inning began and raced on the field, apparently to find out why he had been kicked out.
Guillen then began a lengthy argument with DiMuro and crew chief Dale Scott, the second base umpire.
