LONDON - Sir Michael Caine’s wife Shakira was badly shaken during a preview screening of his latest film Is There Anybody There?
Watching Caine playing a grumpy old man sinking into dementia, Shakira, 62, couldn’t control her emotions and burst into floods of tears.
Sir Michael, 76, said that he had to comfort her afterwards.
“She got very upset because she watched me grow old and die in the film,” the Daily Express quoted him, as saying.
“I said to her, ‘It’s just a performance. I’m not like the character. I am not the same person,’ ” he added.
The two-tome Oscar winning actor is generating more awards buzz for his work in the sentimental drama.
“It was a hell of a part and realy stretched me,” he said. (ANI)
