CA teen charged with shooting friend, burning body
RIVERSIDE, Calif. — California prosecutors have filed a murder charge against a 17-year-old boy who’s been missing since his friend’s charred remains was found in a backyard.
Prosecutors in Riverside County on Thursday accused Jose Campos of shooting 17-year-old Adrian Rios at his family’s home in Hemet last month.
Police suspect Campos then made a bonfire and burned the body.
Authorities are still searching for Campos and his girlfriend, Felicia Sharp, who is wanted as an accessory to murder but has not been charged.
A $2 million warrant has been issued for Campos’ arrest. His parents were previously arrested on suspicion of being accessories to the murder, but released after no charges were filed.
