Devils expect Langenbrunner to return for Game 6
RALEIGH, N.C. — Injured New Jersey captain Jamie Langenbrunner is expected back in the Devils’ lineup for Game 6 of their first-round playoff series against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Langenbrunner took part in the Devils’ morning skate ahead of the game Sunday night.
Afterward coach Brent Sutter said “it’s always nice to have our captain back in the lineup.” The right winger missed three games with what was described as a lower body injury.
Carolina coach Paul Maurice was hoping that forward Sergei Samsonov would play. He missed Game 5 with a lower body injury, but skated individually before the team’s game day workout.
The Devils lead the best-of-seven series 3-2.
