Kanye West, Louis Vuitton join hands

LONDON - American rapper and Grammy award winner Kanye West has now turned into a designer as the hip-hop star has collaborated with fashion giant Louis Vuitton (LV) to come out with his collection.
Out of the five styles he has created for the iconic brand, one of his shoe was showcased at the Paris Fashion Week here Thursday, reports people.com.
Talking about the shoe, West said: ‘I was inspired by the movie ‘Dune’. The collection had all these jackets that were very padded and looked like as if they had hockey pads in the jacket, and there was one where the collar came up really high.’
‘I took that element, and put that on the back of the shoe. It’s like the opposite of the tongue. Usually you have the tongue at the front and it has a tongue at the back,’ he added.
Commenting on his association with LV, he said: ‘LV is the most important brand in fashion and I am proud to have collaborated with them on these shoes and even more proud of the finished product.’
The complete Kanye West collection will be available at LV stores in June 2009.
