Corn, soybeans futures slip; wheat rises on CBOT; Beef and pork prices mixed

Agriculture, livestock futures trade mixed

CHICAGO — Agriculture futures were mixed Thursday in early trading on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for March delivery dropped 12 cents to $5.76 a bushel; March corn lost 6.25 cents to $4.0725 a bushel; January soybeans added 1 cent to $10.28 a bushel; and oats for March delivery were unchanged at $2.73 a bushel.

In other trading, beef prices rose while pork prices fell on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

February live cattle added 0.38 cent to 85.35 cents a pound; January feeder cattle rose 0.25 cent to 91.97 cents a pound; December lean hogs dropped 0.75 cent to 55.70 cents a pound; and February pork bellies shed 0.70 cent to 87.95 cents a pound.
