Bruins’ Savard suffers minor leg injury in Game 6
RALEIGH, N.C. — Boston Bruins center Marc Savard should be ready to play against the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinals series despite injuring his leg Tuesday night.
Savard hurt his right leg in the third period of the 4-2 win in Game 6, which forced a decisive game in Boston on Thursday night. He appeared to bang knees with Carolina winger Chad LaRose early in the period.
Coach Claude Julien said afterward that Savard is fine and it was his decision to send Savard back to the locker room. Boston led 4-1 when Savard was hurt.
Savard scored one of Boston’s two second-period goals Tuesday and has four goals in the series.
