MELBOURNE - Brit schoolboy Shaheen Jafargholi is being considered as the “next Paul Potts” after his soulful rendition of Jackson Five’s ‘Who’s Loving You’ on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
Jafargholi, 12, almost did not make it when he sang a version of Amy Winehouse’s song ‘Valerie’, and he was asked by judge Simon Cowell to sing something else.
He shocked the audience with his rendition of ‘Who’s Loving You’, and he received a standing ovation from the crowd and judges, with Cowell saying that he is the best pop singer he has seen in ten years.
Fellow judge Amanda Hooton even went on to compare him to former contestant Paul Potts.
“Since the day I was born I have always wanted to sing,” News.com.au quoted Jafargholi as telling the Daily Mail.
“I would love to be a big recording artist. I would love to be as famous as Michael Jackson,” he added.
His performance drew 13 million viewers in Britain, making it the most watched TV show of the year. (ANI)
