LALGARH - A person, alleged to be a supporter of the People’s Committee against Police Atrocities (PCPA), was shot dead by the combined security forces in West Midnapore district’s Salboni area.
The person who was killed on the spot in the firing at Satpati village has been identified as Biplab Sahu, while several others were injured in the firing that took place here.
PCPA spokesman Asit Mahato has threatened to surround the security forces camp in the village.
Earlier in the month of September, the combined forces here had arrested an elusive tribal leader Chhatradhar Mahato, who had been spearheading an agitation since November last year against police excesses in the troubled Lalgarh area. (ANI)
