Product Recalls: Quantum office chairs

The following recall has been announced:

— About 150,000 Quantum office chairs, made in China and imported by Raynor Marketing LTD, of West Hempstead, N.Y., because the bolts attaching the chair’s seat back can loosen and detach, posing a fall and injury hazard. The company has received reports of 33 seat back detachments and 14 injuries involving bumps and bruises. The recall involves the Quantum Realspace PRO 9000 Series Mid-Back Multifunction Mesh Chair, SKU 510830, and the Quantum Realspace PRO 9000 Series Mesh Chair with Headrest, SKU 690690. The recalled office chairs were sold at Office Depot stores nationwide and online from May 2006 through August 2009.
