Recalls: half & half, heavy whipping cream

The following recalls have been announced:

Morningstar Foods is recalling certain units of dairy products, including whipping cream and chocolate ice cream mix products, packaged in grocery store brands, because they might contain soy protein that is undeclared on their packaging. Those who have an allergy to soy protein could have a reaction. The Murray, Ky., company said no reactions have been reported but the problem was discovered when consumers reported off-taste in some products.

The recalled items include certain units of 32-ounce Great Value Half & Half; 32-ounce Great Value Heavy Whipping Cream; 32-ounce Kroger brand Heavy Whipping Cream; and 64-ounce Wholesome Farms Chocolate Ice Cream Mix.

The recalled products were distributed to retail outlets to 31 states. For more information on the recall and affected item codes and expiration dates, consumers can call 800-854-3243.

Alexia Foods Inc. is recalling packages of Alexia Olive Oil, Sun-Dried Tomatoes & Pesto Oven Reds frozen potatoe wedges because the product contains pine nuts not declared on the label. Those who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to pine nuts run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they eat the product. The company said it received one report of a mild allergic reaction. The frozen seasoned potato wedges, with the UPC number 34183 00108, were distributed to retail stores nationwide. For more information, consumers can call 866-518-0894.
