Wis. teen accused in milk-dispute slaying in court
MILWAUKEE — A 14-year-old Milwaukee girl accused of fatally stabbing her step-grandfather in the neck after he poured her milk down the drain is due in court for a preliminary hearing.
Labrina T. Brown has been charged in adult court with first-degree reckless homicide.
Her lawyers are expected to eventually file motions to have the case moved into juvenile court. A motion to do so would have to come after her preliminary hearing on Monday.
Milwaukee County district attorney John Chisholm has said he would oppose such a motion.
Prosecutors say Brown killed 48-year-old Robert A. Moon on Aug. 8. They say she had previously threatened Moon with knives.
Brown’s attorney says the case is about more than a fight over milk and that the family has a history of domestic issues.
