Obama returning to New Hampshire for town meeting
WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama will push his policy priorities next week in New Hampshire, a state that has presented him with mixed political blessings.
White House officials said Wednesday that Obama will hold a town-hall style event in the Seacoast town of Portsmouth, N.H, next Tuesday. It will be Obama’s first trip to the Granite State since he took office last Jan. 20.
Obama lost the state’s first-in-the-nation primary contest last year to then-Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton. But he later carried New Hampshire against Republican John McCain during the November general election.
