Obama aide: All options on table for closing Gitmo

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama’s national security adviser says the White House isn’t going to bring suspected terrorists into the United States if it would make Americans less safe.

Retired Marine Gen. James Jones said Sunday that “all options are on the table” for closing the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay. But he also said any worries that those detainees would come to the U.S. are premature because Obama hasn’t made up his mind what to do with those suspected terrorists.

Republicans worry that those suspects could be brought to the United States and have used the prospect as a rallying point for a not-in-my-backyard approach.

Jones spoke on ABC’s “This Week.”
