Wesleyan students told to stay home; suspect loose
MIDDLETOWN, Conn. — Officials at Wesleyan University are instructing students, faculty and staff to stay home while the suspect in a fatal shooting on campus is on the loose.
The Middletown, Conn., university posted the warning Thursday morning on its Web site.
Police say a disguised gunman fatally shot Johanna Justin-Jinich, of Timnath, Colo., on Wednesday afternoon in a bookstore where she worked.
Police have identified the suspect as 29-year-old Stephen Morgan. A Wesleyan spokesman says Morgan has no known connection to the university.
Authorities have released a surveillance photo taken inside the bookstore of a thin, bearded man they believe is Morgan. They describe him as armed and dangerous.
