NEW DELHI - Delhiites can expect some respite from the scorching heat Friday with met officials predicting rain and thunderstorm in the evening.

“There will be some respite from sweltering heat as capital will receive rain and thundershowers towards the evening. The day temperature will record a fall following a squall,” an official at the Safdarjung met department told IANS.

However, increase in the humidity level to 65 percent Friday morning is likely to leave the residents of the capital Delhi restless.

The met officials have predicted that the maximum temperature will hover around 39 degrees Celsius.

The maximum temperature Thursday was 41 degrees Celsius with humidity level of 61 percent.
