BRISBANE, Calif. — Wal-Mart Stores Inc. said Monday that its Web site has added almost 1 million new items through a new program that lets outside sellers market products on its Web site.

The Walmart Marketplace has products from categories such as home, baby, apparel, toys and sporting goods/sports memorabilia. The retailers chosen, which include eBags, CSN Stores and Pro Team, were selected due to their large product assortments and solid customer service track records, Wal-Mart said.

While orders can be placed through Walmart.com starting Monday, the orders will be managed and supported by the chosen retailer. The retailer will handle such services as shipping and handling, customer service, exchanges and returns.
