Volkswagen of America says June sales fall 18 pct

HERNDON, Va. — Volkswagen of America Inc. said Wednesday its June sales fell 18 percent despite a rise in sales of clean diesel-burning cars.

The Herndon, Va.-based affiliate reported total sales of 19,027 in June. Clean diesel cars had their best month ever, with 5,072 units sold, a 26 percent increase.

Parent company Volkswagen AG is headquartered in Wolfsburg, Germany.
