US dollar mostly lower in Europe trading, gold up
LONDON — The U.S. dollar was mostly lower against other major currencies in European trading Monday morning. Gold rose.
The euro traded at $1.4295, up from $1.4250 late Friday in New York.
Other dollar rates:
—94.90 Japanese yen, up from 94.79
—1.0670 Swiss francs, down from 1.0689
—1.0713 Canadian dollars, down from 1.0789
The British pound was quoted at $1.6861, up from $1.6686.
Gold traded in London at $954.25 per troy ounce, up from $939.00 late Friday.
