US dollar mostly lower in Europe
LONDON — The U.S. dollar was mostly lower against other major currencies in European trading Monday morning. Gold rose.
The euro traded at US$1.4235, up from US$1.4139 late Friday in New York.
Other dollar rates:
—94.42 Japanese yen, up from 94.24
—1.0671 Swiss francs, down from 1.0746
—1.1043 Canadian dollars, down from 1.1163
The British pound was quoted at US$1.6508, up from $1.6382.
Gold traded in London at US$952.25 per troy ounce, up from US$937.50 late Friday.
