US dollar, gold lower in European trading
LONDON — The U.S. dollar was lower against other major currencies in European trading Thursday morning. Gold fell.
The euro traded at $1.4032, up from $1.3970 late Wednesday in New York.
Other dollar rates:
—97.84 Japanese yen, down from 98.24
—1.0785 Swiss francs, down from 1.0821
—1.1018 Canadian dollars, down from 1.1089
The British pound was quoted at $1.6469, up from $1.6309.
Gold traded in London at $953.00 per troy ounce, down from $953.75 late Wednesday.
