Germany: 3 US soldiers die in highway crash
BERLIN — The U.S. Army says three soldiers have died and two were injured in an accident on a German autobahn.
A statement from U.S. Army Europe says the five were traveling near Kaiserslautern, southwest of Frankfurt, when the accident occurred Sunday morning.
Details of the accident and the soldiers’ names were not released Monday, because all their relatives had not yet been notified.
All five soldiers belonged to the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, based in Baumholder, Germany.
