Frontier Airlines, union announce deal on pay cuts
DENVER — Frontier Airlines has approved a long-term agreement on wage and benefit concessions from maintenance workers represented by International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 691.
The airline had obtained cuts from those workers under a bankruptcy court order in November. Frontier says the modified cuts are comparable to what other employee groups have accepted.
Details weren’t released.
Union members expect to vote on the agreement by Aug. 20.
A bankruptcy judge last month approved Republic Airways’ bid of almost $109 million to take Denver-based Frontier out of bankruptcy. Southwest Airlines Co. then submitted a nonbinding bid of $113.6 million. A binding bid is due Monday.
