Twin blasts kill 2 NATO troops in Afghanistan

KABUL — NATO says two of its troops have been killed in twin blasts in southern Afghanistan.

The military alliance did not provide other details about the Saturday attack. Three American troops and a French soldier were killed in separate attacks Saturday.

Deaths among U.S. and other NATO troops have soared this year in Afghanistan. July was the deadliest month for international troops since the start of the war in 2001 — 74 foreign troops were killed, including 43 Americans.
