TV news anchor robbed in Delhi

NEW DELHI - A woman employee of state run Doordarshan news channel was robbed of her purse containing Rs.10,000 by two motorcycle-borne thieves in the heart of the national capital, the police said Thursday.

Ritu Verma, an anchor with the news channel, was robbed in the Mandi House area of New Delhi Wednesday evening. The thieves snatched her purse, reportedly containing Rs.10,000, and fled, the police said.

‘We have received information regarding the incident. We have registered a case and investigations are on,’ said Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Anand Mohan.
