OAS: No negotiations on Honduras president return
GEORGETOWN, Guyana — The No. 2 official with the Organization of American States says the group is seeking the “unconditional” return of the ousted president of Honduras.
Assistant Secretary General Albert Ramdin also says the OAS will send a delegation to Honduras to seek a diplomatic resolution to the crisis sparked by the military’s removal of Honduran President Manuel Zelaya.
But Ramdin told The Associated Press on Thursday that the mission would not be discussing concessions because it wants Zelaya back home under “safe and unconditional circumstances.”
He spoke during a meeting of Caribbean leaders in Guyana.
