Three Maoists held in Delhi

NEW DELHI - Three Maoist rebels who were hiding in the national capital were arrested for their alleged involvement in 16 cases, police said Monday.

Sleuths of Delhi Police special cell, anti-terrorism wing, nabbed the suspects identified as Yogender, 26, Satish, 20, and Sheetal Kumar, 20, from south Delhi’s Badarpur area Sunday.

The three were arrested on a tip-off from the Jharkhand Police.

Yogender and Satish are from Jharkhand and Sheetal Kumar hails from Bihar, police said.

According to a senior police officer, Yogender is the zonal commander of the Jharkhand Naxal (Maoist) wing. They are wanted in 16 cases mainly involving gun battles with police forces.
