INDIANAPOLIS — Sports apparel and footwear retailer The Finish Line Inc. said Tuesday it named Donald Courtney president of E-commerce, a new position, effective immediately.

He reports to CEO Glenn Lyon. Courtney, 55, had been chief information officer and executive vice president of information systems and distribution since 2003, and is a 21-year veteran with the company.

Shares rose 25 cents, or 3.1 percent, to $8.46 during late-day trading. The stock has traded between $3.42 and $12.43 over the past year.
