LONDON - Record-breaking Batman movie ‘The Dark Knight’ has not been released in China due to cultural sensitivities.

Despite the movie opening in Hong Kong, Warner Bros. have decided not to release the film in the country’s mainland, or submit it for censors’ approval, reported contactmusic.com.

In a statement, the studio blamed ‘pre-release conditions’ and ‘cultural sensitivities’ for the decision.

The film, starring Christian Bale and the late Heath Ledger, originally hit the big screen in July.
