No positive steroid test at Derby, Oaks
LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky racing officials say no horse tested positive for steroids or other banned drugs at the Kentucky Derby or Kentucky Oaks.
This is the first year the post-race testing at Churchill Downs screened for anabolic steroids.
The Kentucky Horse Racing Commission says blood and urine samples analyzed at a University of Florida lab are negative. The top four finishers in both races were tested, including Derby winner Mine That Bird and Oaks winner Rachel Alexandra.
