Farmers in Maharashtra not to celebrate Diwali

andhra-pradheshVIDARBHA - Soybean and cotton farmers in Maharashtra’s Vidarbha region have planned to boycott Diwali, the festival of lights, this year after receiving poor crop yields.

President Patil to visit Vidarbha today

VIDARBHA - President Pratibha Patil will arrive here on a day-long visit today.

During her visit, President Patil will unveil the statue of Maharana Pratap at Chikhli.

Congress-NCP bond intact as of now

VIDARBHA - UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and NCP President Sharad Pawar on Friday shared the stage in Vidarbha indicating that despite opposing each other in almost all states, the Congress and the NCP bond will remain strong in Maharashtra.
