OAS overturns Cold War ouster of Cuba, but Cubans say they don’t want to return

SAN PEDRO SULA, Honduras — The Organization of American States on Wednesday lifted a decades-old ban on Cuba’s participation in the group and cleared the way for the island’s return despite initial U.S. objections.

Chavez threatens to veto final declaration of OAS summit

CARACAS/PORT OF SPAIN - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez warned Thursday that Venezuela and ‘other countries’ will veto the final declaration of the Summit of the Americas that is set to take place from Friday in Trinidad and Tobago.
