One dead as Punjab erupts over Vienna gurdwara killing (Roundup)

JALANDHAR/NEW DELHI/VIENNA - One person was killed and eight people were injured as police fired at two places in Punjab during six hours of widespread violence by tens of thousands of followers of a Sikh sect after their leader was slain in faraway Austria.

Body of sect leader killed in Vienna to be flown to India

VIENNA - The body of Sant Rama Nand, the 57-year-old sect leader who died after violence between rival groups at a gurdwara here, will be flown to India, a spokesperson of the Austrian foreign ministry said.
