Syngenta unit invests in Metabolon
NEW YORK — Syngenta Ventures, the venture capital unit of agribusiness company Syngenta AG, said Tuesday it is investing an undisclosed amount in privately held biotechnology company Metabolon.
Metabolomics develops technology sued to accelerate the development of plants.
Syngenta Ventures will take a seat on Metabolon’s board of directors. It said the equity investment was made in the Series C financing of Metabolon which raised $12.3 million from a several investors, including Syngenta Ventures.
Syngenta is headquartered in Switzerland. American Depository Shares fell 62 cents to $48.47 in afternoon trading.
