NEW YORK — The following stocks were among those that moved substantially or traded heavily Friday on the New York Stock Exchange:

Sunrise Senior Living Inc., up $1.47 at $4.77
Brookdale Senior Living Inc. said it will buy 21 senior living communities for $204 million from Sunrise Senior Living affiliates.
Supervalu Inc., down 45 cents at $15.20
An analyst downgraded the grocery chain, saying promotion wars and increasing sales of lower-priced items are pressuring its profit margins.
NASDAQ:
Spectrum Pharmaceuticals Inc., down $1.12 at $5.09
The company said the Food and Drug Administration does not consider its drug Fusilev effective enough for approval.
Scientific Learning Corp., up $1.68 at $5.08
The educational software provider expects its third-quarter profit to jump at least tenfold on strong productivity and record sales.
I-Flow Corp., up 82 cents at $12.58
Kimberly-Clark Corp. will purchase the health care company for about $276 million excluding acquired cash and cash equivalents.
Acorda Therapeutics, Inc., down $4.76 at $17.52
The Food and Drug Administration issued a negative opinion that questioned the safety and effectiveness of its multiple sclerosis drug.
Infosys Technologies Ltd., down $1.74 at $47.74
India’s second largest outsourcing firm reported a slight decrease in quarterly profit but raised its revenue and earnings forecasts.
NetApp Inc., up $1.27 at $28.84
Analysts praised the data storage company’s decision to resume giving guidance, one saying it’s a good start for the new CEO.
