CHENNAI - Tamil Nadu Minister for Local Administration M.K. Stalin Monday asked DMK workers to refrain from self-immolation in support of his ailing father and Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi.

The chief minister ‘is resting after exhaustion. There are no concerns about his health’, Stalin told reporters here. The chief minister was hospitalised earlier in the day with a severe backache.

Stalin urged volunteers of the ruling DMK to desist from acts of ’self flagellation’ saying the chief minister’s health was improving steadily.
