Speeding car kills schoolgirl

CHANDIGARH - A 12-year-old girl was killed and her sister and a friend were seriously injured when a speeding car hit them here Monday in dense fog, police said.

The three girls were walking to their school when a rashly driven Innova car knocked them down from behind in Sector 53, killing Lakshmi instantly, police officer Janak Rana said.

‘The driver of the car has been arrested. He said he could not see the girls due to the dense fog,’ said Rana. According to the police, the girls were students of Class 7 in a government school.
