Southwest reservations agents ratify labor pact

DALLAS — Customer-service and reservations agents at Southwest Airlines have ratified a new contract that gives the workers 3 percent pay raises.

The union says Southwest also agreed to a “significant increase” in retirement benefits, including bigger 401(k) contributions.

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers said Tuesday that the 4-year deal was approved by 54 percent of the members voting. The deal covers about 5,300 workers.

The 3 percent pay raises are retroactive to Nov. 1.
