Sonia, Advani wish people happy and secure New Year

NEW DELHI - Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L.K. Advani Wednesday wished a happy New Year to the people of India.
‘Greetings and good wishes for the New Year,’ Gandhi said in a message.
Advani, BJP’s prime ministerial candidate, said in a separate message: ‘On behalf of BJP and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), I wish all a very happy, prosperous and secure New Year. Let us together resolve to end despair and usher hope in year in 2009,’ Advani said in his message.
