The management consulting company is acquiring its rival Towers Perrin in a $3.5 billion all-stock deal amid shrinking revenue.
Teppco Partners LP, up $1.43 at $30.12
Enterprise Products Partners will buy the pipeline operator in a $3.3 billion deal to form the country’s biggest public energy partnership.
Interoil Corp., up $4.52 at $29.27
Asian media reported that two Chinese companies were both planning bids for the Australian company’s Papua New Guinea natural gas project.
Chico’s FAS Inc., up 41 cents at $9.51
The women’s apparel retailer’s turnaround is progressing well, a Sterne Agee analyst said, with improved merchandise and cost cuts.
SLM Corp., up 78 cents at $10.05
The student lender’s stock should rise as it services a big chunk of government-originated loans to college students, an analyst said.
Cablevision Systems Corp., up 46 cents at $19.32
A Supreme Court ruling gave the cable company the go-ahead to offer remote-storage digital recorder systems to consumers.
Ford Motor Co., up 17 cents at $5.78
The auto company’s sales analyst said June was the industry’s best month this year, with the smallest sales decline since last September.
