Shiela Dikshit asks ministers, legislators to take pay cuts

NEW DELHI - Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit Wednesday issued an advisory proposing a 20 percent salary cut for state ministers and legislators.
“I call for 20 percent salary cuts of all Delhi ministers and legislative members as an effort to save money,” Dikshit told reporters here.
The move comes after a call by the Indian government to observe austerity.
However, Dikshit said that this is a voluntary move and not mandatory for the legislators.
