Sensex down 2.46 percent

MUMBAI - Indian equities markets continued to be dull, with a key index ending Tuesday 2.46 percent lower than its previous close.

The sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) shut shop at 9,100.32 points, 2.46 percent or 229.25 points lower than its previous close.

The broader S&P CNX Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange also slumped to end at 2,795.6 points, 1.78 percent lower than its last close.

Other market indices like the BSE midcap closed in the negative terrain, ending 1.09 percent lower while the BSE smallcap was down 0.37 percent at close.
